EMANATION
Conceived and embodied by Spanish multi-instrumentalist CG Santos (LDRTFS, Teitanblood), Emanation is the fulfillment of a mental resolution in the research into the spiritism fields and the occult. Where science meets that aspect of religion that appeals to the desire to worship something outside of, and superior to, ourselves. Having in mind the non-chronological nature of Emanation's releases, the project first saw the light in 2013 when Black Mass Records issued 'One Soul, One Body, One Spirit', an obscure cassette compilation of 2011/2012 underground works re-released later 2021 by Cavsas on compact disc format. This release established Emanation as an experimental and free-form hallucination, as it approached the Black Metal cult from an abhorrent and deconstructed angle never seen before. A mixture of experimental avant-garde delirium and fanatic traditionalism. The same year the release of 'Under Magnetic Sleep', another hallucinatory and insanity-inducing experimental one sided 12" from Black Mass Records, featuring three unreleased tracks taken from the 'The Emanation of Begotten Chaos from God' recording sessions. This sophomore release saw CG Santos delve even deeper into subterranean realms of sound mutilation and explore the concepts of unusual perception developed under artificially-inducted sleep, as a tool to bridge the divide that separates the living from the departed. The project continued its deviated, non-chronological erratic descent into the hidden labyrinths of human subconscious with the official release of the monstrous debut full-length offering 'The Emanation of Begotten Chaos from God', a tectonic-shifting crucible of metaphysical existentialism and experimental spiritism. 'The Emanation of Begotten Chaos from God' was self-released in into tape-trading circuits in 2011, with the CD release delayed until 2014 when it was issued on Monad Press Ltd.. Neglected by the mainstream media and ignored by the general public, but gaining cult status into underground connoisseurs, the immense record was licensed worldwide and repressed as a 2LP and digiCD format by Sentient Ruin and Cavsas in 2021 as a ten anniversary event; an iconic work that still sounds decades ahead of the now, such the breadth and scope of fearless experimentalism and visionary subversion it achieved with its immense and hideous riffless deconstructionism. A last vinyl only full-length titled 'Temple Sleep Crystallization' followed suit in 2016 on Bestiarie after three years of research into self-death and the dangers of spiritism. This release crystallized and immortalized the Emanation sound, baptizing the project as the cornerstone act of an underground elite of mysterious sonic deconstructors who revel in the most intense and soul-tearing aspects of the occult and subconscious. Emanation's utmost commitment and dedication to the most torturous aspects of cryptic crafts is evident from the unorthodox creation process which defines projects like this, crafted entirely with home made unconventional anachronic devices and techniques, sourcing of field recordings in remote areas which entails traveling great distances to capture sound in key places under self-imposed deprivation states; necessary sacrifice to achieve transcendence. Few, if any, experimental extreme music projects have shown such a commitment and dedication to the finest crafts of the subconscious, occult, esoteric and deconstructed as Emanation, an authentic beacon and monument to unbridled and feral creative genuinity and excellence.
